Some Redirects Work Fine and Others Not Working
A common question about the SEO Redirection plugin is why some redirects work while others don’t.
The main reason for this is often that you’re attempting to redirect a page that doesn’t belong to your site. For example, let’s say your website is newsite.com with the SEO Redirection plugin installed. If you try to create a redirect in newsite.com‘s control panel to redirect traffic from www.google.com/search to newsite.com, this won’t work. This is because you can’t control redirects for domains you don’t own; all redirect sources must originate from your own domain.
If you’re moving from an old site to a new one and want to redirect links from the old site, you’ll need to install the plugin on the old site itself to manage those redirects.
